  • SayPro Sincere Thank You to MICT SETA for Empowering SayPro Through ICT Training for Employees (2021–2022).

A Sincere Thank You to MICT SETA for Empowering SayPro Through ICT Training for Employees (2021–2022)

The Southern African Youth Project (SayPro) would like to extend its deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA) for your generous and impactful support during the 2021–2022 period. Your investment in the training of 10 SayPro employees in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Skills has created lasting change — not only within our organization, but in the broader communities we serve.

In an era where technology is rapidly shaping every facet of our lives — from education and employment to communication and innovation — ICT skills have become essential. Your decision to partner with SayPro to upskill our team in this critical area speaks volumes about MICT SETA’s commitment to inclusive growth, skills development, and organisational sustainability. It also highlights your clear understanding that empowering the workforce behind youth-focused initiatives strengthens the very foundation of societal transformation.

For SayPro, this training came at a crucial time. As the world adapted to new ways of working due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the increasing digitisation of services, the need for digital competency became non-negotiable. Thanks to MICT SETA, 10 of our dedicated staff members were given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in key ICT areas — including basic computer literacy, digital communication, data management, IT troubleshooting, and virtual collaboration tools.

The outcomes of this training were immediate and tangible. Internally, our operations became more efficient, our team more confident, and our service delivery more effective. The newly acquired ICT skills allowed our staff to better navigate digital systems, support programme implementation with greater technical proficiency, and extend our digital outreach to young people in both urban and rural areas. The knowledge gained not only enhanced individual growth but amplified the overall impact of SayPro’s mission.

Your support helped our employees overcome the digital divide — a barrier that limits many from reaching their full potential. More than that, it reaffirmed our belief that meaningful change begins with empowering people at every level of an organisation. You didn’t just provide training; you provided opportunity, advancement, and a future-ready workforce equipped to meet the evolving demands of the 21st-century development sector.

The MICT SETA’s vision for a digitally empowered South Africa aligns beautifully with SayPro’s own goals of equipping youth and professionals with tools that will carry them into a future of innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic participation. You have proven to be not just a funder, but a true partner in progress, with a keen understanding of the intersection between education, technology, and sustainable impact.

On behalf of our leadership, staff, and beneficiaries, we thank you — not just for the training provided, but for believing in the power of capacity-building and the importance of investing in people. Your contribution has made a real and lasting difference in our journey.

We look forward to continuing this partnership and exploring new ways to collaborate in building a digitally skilled, inclusive, and resilient South Africa — one empowered individual at a time.

    With our deepest appreciation,
    SayPro Team

  • SayPro Thank You to the Gauteng Government Office of the Premier for Honoring SayPro with an Award (2018–2019)

A Heartfelt Thank You to the Gauteng Government Office of the Premier for Honouring SayPro with an Award (2018–2019)

The Southern African Youth Project (SayPro) extends its deepest appreciation to the Gauteng Government Office of the Premier for the incredible honor bestowed upon us during the 2018–2019 period. Being selected as a recipient of a prestigious award by your office was not only a moment of celebration for our organization — it was a defining milestone that affirmed the impact of our work and the potential of our mission.

In a sector where non-profits and youth development organisations often work tirelessly behind the scenes, this recognition served as a powerful reminder that the work we do matters, that it is seen, and that it is valued. The award we received from the Office of the Premier was more than a symbol of achievement; it was a validation of the long hours, the challenges overcome, the community partnerships built, and the countless lives touched by our programmes.

The Gauteng Government Office of the Premier holds a critical leadership role in shaping policy, development, and transformation in the province. To be acknowledged by such a high and respected office elevated our sense of responsibility and strengthened our resolve to continue our mission of empowering youth through education, skills development, entrepreneurship, and holistic support.

This award inspired not only our leadership and staff, but also the thousands of young people we serve across Gauteng and beyond. It reminded them that success is possible, that excellence is recognised, and that the journey they are on — no matter how difficult — can lead to moments of pride and public honour.

In the wake of this recognition, SayPro experienced a renewed energy. Internally, it inspired our team to reach even higher and work even harder. Externally, it enhanced our visibility and credibility within the development sector, opening doors to new partnerships, collaborations, and funding opportunities. Most importantly, it created momentum — the kind that carries an organisation forward with purpose and confidence.

We are especially grateful that the award came during a time when many youth-focused organisations faced significant resource and operational challenges. Your acknowledgment provided us with motivation and hope — a reminder that the impact we are making in communities is real and worthy of recognition.

The Office of the Premier plays a crucial role in fostering innovation, social justice, and empowerment across Gauteng. Your recognition of SayPro aligns perfectly with your commitment to building a province that invests in youth potential, celebrates grassroots success, and uplifts those working to transform our society from the ground up.

On behalf of the entire SayPro family — from our board of directors and leadership team to our staff, volunteers, and youth beneficiaries — we express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the Gauteng Government Office of the Premier. Thank you for seeing us. Thank you for celebrating us. Thank you for encouraging us to keep going.

We are proud to carry this award as a symbol of what is possible when community, government, and civil society work together for a common goal. May this recognition be the beginning of many more collaborations and shared victories.

    With deep appreciation and pride,
    SayPro Team

  • SayPro Sincere Thank You to HWSETA for Investing in the Growth and Development of SayPro Employees Through Life Skills, Workshops, and Adult Education (2018–2021).

A Sincere Thank You to HWSETA for Investing in the Growth and Development of SayPro Employees Through Life Skills, Workshops, and Adult Education (2018–2021)

The Southern African Youth Project (SayPro) extends its profound and heartfelt gratitude to the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA) for your unwavering support and investment in the professional and personal development of our employees. Your partnership, which spanned from 2018 to 2021, provided our team with access to critical Life Skills Training, Educational Workshops, and Adult Education opportunities that have significantly transformed our internal capacity, organizational culture, and service delivery.

Your commitment to nurturing human capital within the non-profit and development sector cannot be overstated. In a time when organisations like ours were working tirelessly to respond to the complex social challenges facing youth, your support helped ensure that our employees themselves were not left behind. Through the HWSETA-funded training, our staff were able to grow not only as professionals, but also as individuals equipped to face life with confidence, resilience, and a deeper sense of purpose.

The Life Skills Training offered essential personal development tools — from emotional intelligence and communication, to critical thinking and conflict resolution. These skills have been vital in enhancing employee wellbeing and improving the way we engage with the communities we serve. Our team has become more cohesive, empathetic, and empowered to lead by example in their daily interactions with youth and stakeholders.

The Workshops delivered over this three-year period brought refreshing insights and practical knowledge into our workspace. Topics such as leadership, community engagement, wellness, time management, and team dynamics were explored in ways that encouraged deep reflection and real action. These workshops didn’t just build skills — they built a learning culture within SayPro, where continuous improvement is now at the heart of our daily operations.

One of the most remarkable aspects of this partnership was the inclusion of Adult Education. Many of our employees who had previously not completed their formal education were given the opportunity to reignite their learning journey. For these individuals, it was more than just education; it was a second chance, a personal victory, and a dream revived. The dignity and motivation this brought into their lives continue to resonate throughout our organisation.

By prioritising training in the health and welfare sector, HWSETA has demonstrated a powerful understanding: that the strength of an organisation lies in the wellbeing, knowledge, and capability of its people. Your support has helped SayPro grow stronger from the inside out — improving not only how we operate, but how we care, how we serve, and how we inspire change in our communities.

This partnership has left a lasting legacy. Our team is now more confident, qualified, and capable of delivering impactful youth programmes with empathy and professionalism. They are advocates of lifelong learning, proud of their progress, and motivated to continue growing — both for themselves and the young people they serve.

On behalf of SayPro, our leadership, and every single employee who directly benefited from this transformative training, we offer our most sincere and heartfelt thanks. HWSETA, your belief in development, equity, and human potential continues to create real and lasting change. We are honored to have journeyed with you during this period and look forward to future collaborations that continue to build empowered, educated, and equipped citizens.

    With deep appreciation and respect,
    SayPro Team

  • SayPro Deep Expression of Gratitude to the National Arts Council of South Africa for Supporting SayPro’s Training in Arts, Culture, and Heritage (2016–2017)

A Deep Expression of Gratitude to the National Arts Council of South Africa for Supporting SayPro’s Training in Arts, Culture, and Heritage (2016–2017)

The Southern African Youth Project (SayPro) wishes to extend its most sincere and heartfelt appreciation to the National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) for the invaluable support and partnership extended during the 2016–2017 period. Through your funding and vision, SayPro was able to offer comprehensive training in Arts, Culture, and Heritage to four dedicated individuals—a small number, yet a profound impact.

In a world where opportunities for emerging artists and cultural practitioners can be limited—especially in underserved communities—your support stood as a beacon of hope. The training not only nurtured talent but instilled in these individuals a renewed sense of purpose and identity, rooted in South Africa’s rich and diverse cultural landscape.

This initiative was about far more than just education. It was about preserving stories, awakening passion, and empowering voices that deserve to be heard. Through your support, these four participants gained the knowledge and tools to become not only skilled artists but also ambassadors of our cultural heritage. They learned about the significance of their own history, traditions, and creative expression, and how to use their skills to uplift and educate others in their communities.

Each of the beneficiaries left the programme transformed — equipped with a deeper understanding of who they are, where they come from, and how they can contribute to the evolving narrative of South Africa’s artistic and cultural identity. Whether through visual arts, performance, storytelling, or community engagement, they are now better positioned to take the lead in preserving and promoting South Africa’s cultural legacy.

The National Arts Council’s decision to invest in a grassroots training programme like this speaks volumes about your commitment to inclusive development. You recognised that even a small investment can have a ripple effect, and that when you empower even one artist, you ignite the potential to transform entire communities. The four individuals who received this training have gone on to become sources of inspiration, knowledge bearers, and cultural connectors in their own right.

We are especially grateful for the opportunity this training provided to merge theory with practice, enabling participants to engage with real-world applications of their skills. The exposure to arts and heritage management, cultural policy, creative entrepreneurship, and collaborative projects gave them a solid foundation to begin their careers or build upon their existing practice.

On behalf of the entire SayPro team and the beneficiaries of this programme, we offer our deepest gratitude to the National Arts Council of South Africa. Thank you for believing in the power of the arts. Thank you for seeing the value in uplifting just a few, knowing the impact would extend to many more. Thank you for being a champion of culture, inclusion, and transformation.

We hope to continue walking this journey with you — building a future where the voices of our artists are not only heard, but celebrated, protected, and empowered.

    With sincere appreciation and admiration,
    SayPro Team
