Purpose of the Role

The Magazine Performance Management Partnerships Officer plays a critical role in enhancing SayPro’s visibility and leadership in organisational performance by transforming data, stories, and partnership insights into high-impact knowledge content. This role supports the creation and dissemination of performance-focused articles, manages partnerships with authors and media, and contributes to SayPro’s performance learning agenda through the monthly publication of SayPro Magazine and related media.


Key Responsibilities

🔹 Content Development & Performance Communication

  • Collect, curate, and translate internal organisational performance data into clear, engaging articles and visual content for SayPro Magazine.
  • Use SayPro GPT to generate and refine 100+ performance-focused article prompts per editorial cycle.
  • Identify strategic themes for each magazine issue aligned with SayPro’s core strategic outcomes.

🔹 Strategic Publishing Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with performance experts, authors, designers, editors, and media platforms.
  • Manage incoming contributions from internal departments, external partners, and guest contributors.
  • Lead the co-creation and syndication of content with external publishing collaborators.

🔹 Editorial & Production Oversight

  • Coordinate editing, layout, proofreading, and publishing of the SayPro Magazine (monthly and special editions).
  • Maintain publishing calendars, content pipelines, and contributor communication systems.
  • Ensure all content is aligned with SayPro brand guidelines and editorial quality standards.

🔹 Knowledge Sharing & Engagement

  • Host interviews with internal and external stakeholders for insight-based storytelling.
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer learning sessions, roundtables, and performance storytelling workshops.
  • Organise knowledge-exchange events linked to magazine releases or specific performance themes.

🔹 Digital Performance Integration

  • Manage and update digital performance dashboards linked to the SayPro website and reporting portals.
  • Work closely with the SayPro IT and Analytics Team to visualise key data trends.
  • Track user engagement and feedback on digital knowledge products.

🔹 Strategic Reporting & Royalty Support

  • Support SayPro Royalty and Executive Office by preparing analytics-based performance summaries, drawn from the magazine’s content ecosystem.
  • Assist in packaging content for strategic presentations, board reports, and public engagements.

Key Competencies & Skills

  • Strong writing and editing skills with experience in publishing or journalism
  • Solid understanding of performance management, M&E, or development reporting
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • Proficiency in digital publishing tools (e.g., Canva, InDesign, WordPress)
  • Familiarity with AI tools like SayPro GPT or ChatGPT is an advantage
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet publishing deadlines
  • Experience in hosting interviews, learning sessions, or webinars

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, Monitoring & Evaluation, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in media, publishing, knowledge management, or performance reporting
  • Experience working with development programmes, TVETs, NGOs, or donor-funded initiatives is highly desirable
  • A portfolio of writing or editorial work is an advantage
