Good morning, SayPro family, colleagues, partners, and most importantly—our beloved mothers.

Today, we celebrate not just a holiday, but a legacy. A lifelong commitment. A profound role that shapes nations and transforms generations. On this Mother’s Day 2025, we honour the women who are—before anything else—developers of life, of people, and of purpose.

As SayPro’s Chief Development Officer, my work focuses on building—building resources, programmes, partnerships, and sustainable systems that uplift lives. But when I reflect on where true development begins, I find the answer at home—with our mothers.

Mothers are the world’s first developers. Long before formal systems take shape, mothers are already nurturing growth—instilling values, encouraging potential, and making sacrifices to ensure others can thrive. They do what we in development call the “groundwork”—quietly, consistently, and with unmatched devotion.

This year’s theme, “Empowered Women, Empower Generations,” is one we live by at SayPro. But it’s also one we see—in every mother who joins a learning programme, who starts a small business, who advocates for her children, or who finds her own voice after years of silence. These are the women developing not only their lives but entire communities.

To our partners and donors, I want to say: when you invest in SayPro, you are not just investing in programmes—you are investing in mothers who multiply that impact tenfold. You are fuelling the courage of women who are changing the trajectory of future generations.

To the mothers in our programmes and on our teams: your presence is not incidental—it is essential. You bring a kind of leadership that no manual can teach. Your empathy is strategy. Your resilience is structure. Your love is the true foundation on which development stands.

And to every mother listening today—whether you feel seen or unseen, supported or struggling—please know this: you are not alone, and your work matters more than words can express.

So today, we celebrate you not only with flowers or words—but with a renewed commitment: to build systems that support you, that value your contribution, and that empower you to rise even higher.
