Purpose

The SayPro Impact Evaluation Template is designed to enable SayPro staff, partners, and program participants to systematically measure and report on the social impact of their partnerships and initiatives over time. It captures both quantitative metrics and qualitative insights to support learning, accountability, and improved decision-making.


Template Sections and Description

A. Project OverviewBrief summary of the partnership/project, including partners involved, timeline, location, and target groups.
B. Objectives & OutcomesRestate the original goals of the initiative and the specific social outcomes it intended to achieve.
C. Impact Metrics (Quantitative)Key indicators tracked, such as: <ul><li>Number of beneficiaries reached</li><li>Jobs created</li><li>Skills training sessions delivered</li><li>Funding leveraged</li><li>Community infrastructure built or improved</li></ul> Each metric should include baseline, target, and actual values.
D. Impact Insights (Qualitative)Narrative findings from stakeholders, case studies, testimonials, and success stories demonstrating real-life change or transformation due to the project.
E. Data Collection MethodsTools and methods used to gather information, such as surveys, interviews, field visits, and partner reports.
F. Challenges & Lessons LearnedReflective insights on what worked, what didn’t, and why. Identify barriers and opportunities for improvement.
G. Contribution to SayPro’s Strategic GoalsShow how the partnership aligns with and contributes to SayPro’s core social impact areas (e.g. youth empowerment, education access, local development).
H. Sustainability of ImpactExplain whether and how the impact is expected to be sustained beyond the project term.
I. Recommendations for Scale or ReplicationIdentify how the initiative might be expanded or replicated in other communities or sectors.
J. AnnexesInclude supporting documents like data tables, graphs, beneficiary lists, photos, or media clippings.

Usage Guidelines

  • Required for: All long-term and high-value partnerships, and any projects with direct community impact.
  • Submitted By: Partnership leads or project managers, in coordination with SayPro Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) officers.
  • Frequency: At key milestones—typically midterm and at project close-out; optional annual updates for ongoing partnerships.
  • Format: Word or Google Docs for narrative sections; Excel for numerical metrics; optional PowerPoint summary for presentations.
