A Municipal Rates Clearance Certificate is an official document issued by the local municipality that confirms:

  • All municipal rates, levies, and service fees (such as water, electricity, refuse, and sanitation) have been fully paid.
  • The property in question is free from municipal debt for the required clearance period (typically 3–6 months).
