Objective

To translate the research, partnership opportunities, and strategic discussions from SCSPR-81 into actionable housing solutions, SayPro sets a clear target for the quarter: develop and submit at least three concrete, implementable proposals for affordable housing pilot projects in selected informal settlement areas.

Proposal Development Requirements

Each housing proposal must include:

  3. Housing Model Overview

    • Materials and construction method (e.g., eco-friendly, prefabricated)
  4. Affordability Strategy
    • Cost per unit
    • Financing model (e.g., subsidies, microloans, rent-to-own)
  5. Implementation Partners
    • Local government, NGOs, technical firms, or academic collaborators
  6. Timeline and Milestones
  7. Risk Assessment
    • Land tenure, service access, safety, and community acceptance
  8. Expected Outcomes
    • Number of households served
    • Improvements in living conditions, access to services, etc.

Pilot Project Selection Criteria

SayPro will prioritize pilot proposals that:

  • Respond directly to gaps identified in the Community Needs Assessment
  • Are scalable or replicable across other settlements
  • Promote community participation and local job creation
  • Align with SayPro’s accreditation and training goals (e.g., involving certified local builders)
  • Use cost-effective, sustainable building methods

Implementation Support

Successful proposals will be eligible for:

  • SayPro seed funding and technical support
  • Access to SayPro’s implementation toolkit
  • Monitoring through the SCSPR-81 M&E framework
  • Potential elevation to national or regional policy pilot level
